We're heading down from Nebraska for the Bugorama on March 27th and I'm curious if there are any get togethers, cruises, open houses, etc. planned for the weekend. We fly in saturday afternoon and are looking for something to do that night. We've done the Sonic cruise before and the open house at Comp. Engineering, and a late visit to Frenchy's house after everyone left. We have a Bugorama virgin(emersonbiggins) with us this year so we need to show him a good time. Hope to go skiing Monday or Tuesday at the Arizona Snowbowl. Are there any shuttles from Phoenix to there? Mike Quint Hastings, NE

| Do the Scottsdale Pavillions Custom Car and Hotrod Show on Sat. afternoon and evening. Also I think Sat. night is the Mesa Main Street Cruise. Local Dubbers do one or the other, sometimes both. Sonic will be good but it's Fri. night. |

I am planning on coming down that weekend...driving the Ghia of course. Last time I was at Phoenix BOR was long time ago - 2003?
Was down in Phoenix this past weekend to check out the Copperstate Cassic show - the Wolfsburg Registry crew even put me to work directing cars, picked up my heads from Steve Hollingsworth. Great weather and hanging out with great friends. |

| Jim you may remember some of us from Nebraska, you stopped with a group in Lincoln, NE at the VW dealership during a cruise to the east. Our VW club put on a get together at the dealership. As I remember you were having some engine problems with the ghia. May be we'll see you at the show. Mike Quint |

Looking forward to this years Bugorama Phoenix, it seems to get better and better every year with an overflowing swap, tons of good stuff, lots of vendors, not enough food booths open, great drag racing and tons of new and old friends. Always one of my favorite events in AZ.
Remember that the new Casino/hotel is now open across the street, I'm sure there will be some parking lot partying going on there  |

| I was looking at the web site for the bugorama and I noticed the poster for the show. It reminded me that when the other guys booked their flight, it asked what or where they were visiting when they were in Phoenix. They both received a free Bugorama poster in the mail. Kinda cool. (thanks emersonbiggins for giving me yours.) |

$30 to enter a car/ admission?!?!?!? What is the deal Bugorama Productions with that? Raising the price $5 in a year is a bit much.
$20 a person to get in?!?!?! |

Hey Thomas, Do like the old days at the drive in theater. Hide the gals in the trunk.
Is it priced that way to get more cars in the show but fewer spectators?
And based on this being the only Samba PHX BOR topic it doesn't seem like there is much interest this year. |

So what carrier are you flying? Yesterday I was pricing round trips from Phoenix to Omaha around the 1st of May. They wern't $180.
Also keep in mind that if your rental is a VW, for only $10 you can park in the middle of all the activity and not in the far away parking lot.

Quality shows such as Good Guys or the Art of Noize show charge these prices and are at much better locations. It looks as if the Phoenix Bugorama may becoming much like the Vegas Bugorama.... just an after thought of the weekends other activities.
I can only hope that with the ridiculous price this year... that the family has actually hired judges for the car classes, rather than leaving it up to the popularity contest and "who in the club wants to win this month".
For admission, shirt and lunch, there would be very many volunteers to judge quite a few classes. |

We are flying out of Grand Island on Allegiant Air. Fly out Saturday and back on Wednesday.
We'll have to check on the VW rental.
If you fly in to Grand Island it's a little over 2 hour drive to Omaha
I looked up may 1st from Phoenix to GI and it said 29.99 usually 69.99
