I've had this old EMPI shift knob for at last 20 years, and have never seen another one quite like it... I know it's not a newer EMPI one, but the only ones I have ever seen like this were in white and blue.... this one has quite a few small dents in the wood, and no plastic insert, but the allen set screw is still there..
is this something somebody pulled the paint off of?
Is it a one-off, made-of-unobtanium shift knob from Joe Vittone's personal car?
I have NO idea. Any EMPI guru's out there, that can shed some light on this thing? I have had it for way too long, will never use it, and is probably, if it's worth anything at all, going to end up finding a new shelf to sit on.

That is an original empi shift knob with the enamel and paint removed. I've done that a few times to my broken shift knob's. Look's dope :D
