When you said it was going to deviate from stock I was expecting a real mess, but that is bloody lovely. Very good choices there, looks great. Sure it wasn't cheap, but if you can afford it that is money well spent.

I am also rebuilding my westy furniture out of baltic birch (along with a granite countertop) because I like the lighter woods and dovetail joints. Germans are good engineers, but lousy carpenters (at least in the Westy shop).

that came out awesome! very nice restoration that, in my opinion, i wouldnt think twice about doing if i were you!
not sure if it was asked, but if you dont mind me asking, about how much was the total resto of your bus?
