While we are on the topic....
Barndoor seats in a resonable nick (especially deluxe) are notouriously hard to find. And mine might need some tlc

What's the alternative options? I think I remember Reading about using the backrest of a split as a good sub for a barndoor base?
And I also recall something about a crewcab rear seat being used?
:?:

You could use a backrest but it has less springs so it might be uncomfortable. Or you might break all the springs since there are less if you are heavy.

Some years of Double Cabs use a flat-bottomed rear seat base. This sounds like a viable alternative but I don't know the particulars on what years. From this Double Cab seat thread, it sounds like 64-67 could work.

Double Cab rear seats are hard to find too but probably not as difficult as Barndoor front seat bases.

Here is a Barndoor back rest on top of a seat bottom so you can see there are some differences in shape

One more thing.
For repairing my seat, zigzags and spring number aside.
Are the springs the same for all year including post bd?
Could I fix my seats using late springs or are the coils different?

Non-Barndoor are totally different springs for the base so no on those.

Some of the springs have a different number of coils or sizing to form the shape of the seat frame front to back but as long as the overall height is the same, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

So are my front seats orignal?

Hard to tell from those 2 photos.

The backrest looks to be correct, although some of the zigzag framing is coming apart?

Post a photo of the underneath of the seat bottom.
