I followed up on a local add for some vw parts and in talking to the seller I always ask " do you have any other vw stuff around". He says, I have some old dash plaques. So I have 15 early bug in dash plaques . I got #1-10,#17,#18,#20, #21, #22. They are in good shape. My question is.... How hard are these to find? Are they rare? I know they are desirable, but which ones are the hardest to find or biggest value. I would think #1 would be the smallest number made, or is it the last one #32.

Let's just say I'll give you $50 for them :) On a serious note though they command a pretty penny and I don't know for sure but you probably have at least $750 there. (I could be way off but they are very valuable and I wouldn't mind having them :) )

WOW =D> you hit the jackpot buddy. You got the the best plaque #1 8) You can easily get about $75.00 to $125.00 a plaque for each one from #6 down from #5 to #2 you can get about $150.00 to $175.00 a plaque and for #1 name your price and just wait patiently for a buyer :D but remember how hard times are now so probably come down abit on all of them. I can honestly say I'll take #1 seeing how it was held on my birthday :oops: so name your price as It would complete my set :wink:

I got #1-9 NOS about 2 yrs ago for $500. Sold my complete set and have had to start over again.

At the moment nobody is buying, so just hold onto them. but #1 is an easy $300+

are these easy to collect. ? they would look pretty cool to have on the dash of my bug

Not really easy. I've completed 2 sets and I am working on a 3rd for my 67 vert. I've been collecting these for 25 years now and they are HARD to find :( well atleast #s 1 thru #10 are the hardest after that #s 11 on up popup from time to time. :D

How were they given out... Did your vw have to be in the show area to get a plaque..... What do you think the total numbers produced were for the early ones ?

Go to the next Bug Inn and earn one. Nothing like earning the plaque and getting a time slip to boot!! 8)
