View original topic: Tiny screw (ignition switch)

I had a locksmith pull a piece of a broken key that was way in the locking cylinder, the guy accidentally lost the tiny screw that holds the ignition switch to the locking cylinder, any idea where to buy a replacement? or a substitute screw from something else that fits, wondering if anybody has done this with any luck...

Thanks!

Jose.

If he did the work inside your bus, you might try searching the interior with a strong magnet or put a nylon over a vacuum for the same purpose.

Unfortunately that little screw is a gonner, we did a very good search, but thanks for suggestions anyway. I do have a huge magnet I used to use to retrieve dropped fishing rods over the Ocean Beach Pier lol! I will run it around the lawn area where bus was parked, I am a little afraid of pulling my chihuahuas by their metal buckle in collars thought

I actually found it!
The guy swore he had it there by pedals so I moved bus and ran the magnet on lawn there and there it was  , must have fallen tru hole in pedals.
Here is a picture of the pesky tiny thing for future reference:

Do you have a Jesus Clip to go with your Jesus Screw? Good thing you found it I doubt a replacement would have been located!

Sweet! Glad it worked out. I've had many similar experiences in the past. \:D/

let me say- you are way lucky. i have a 2 ft. bar magnet i use for finding much bigger fasteners, and more often than not they are never found...

Lol! I know this was a lucky break
I got my hands full now though, just got my Bus back from paint shop, it is completely stripped of windows, seats vent wings etc, I got to put all together except for the windows, I will do that after the upholstery job, the guy was telling me how much easier it is to work the headliner without the glass in windows...
Here is a preliminary shot of my bus, I painted her in a lite turquoise on a white top. I will start a thread of this restoration later on when it is finished, or simply more presentable

She went from this:

To this:

Its been been raining a lot in southern California which is not the norm, and since I dont have a garage I been keeping her covered up with a tarp and only working on it when weather allows, it is coming along nice but lots of work ahead!
