| As I was driving down the freeway today, I wondered...if you're going to be doing a lot of freeway travel, would removing the foam engine compartment seal keep your engine cooler in cold weather? :-k |

There you go thinking again
The seal keeps the warm air from below from coming up into the engine, it doesn't matter if it is 70 degrees or -10 it is the same principal. |

One of the killers of air cooled engines is they run too cold in cold weather already. Why would you want to make that worse? Not that removing the foam seal would.
On Type 1's being run in the arctic some people cut holes in the tin to cause hot air to recirculate, thereby warming the engine more. No easy way to do this on a T4 though. |
