1956-64 striker plates are all virtually the same. The only visual difference is that 1956 had a White plastic wedge. 1957-later had Black wedges

The 56 models didn't have the adjustment screw, it was added to the 57 year models. (Progressive Refinements p. A-31)

My Oct 56, which is a 57 has the translucent white ones. When in 57 did they change?

This one has the adjuster screw and the white wedge, so it appears obvious the black wedges came later on... |

looking at a black wedge one here now part number is 111-837-035B, another difference is that the lower most screw was recessed allowing the use of 3 screws of the same length instead of the earlier one pictured above which requires 2 short screws and one longer screw on the lower non-recessed hole, the long lower screws with the correct taper are kind of hard to find when you need them

Interesting enough though I have correct 57 stryker plate which is black but the other day I was able to use it still when I swapped out the door locking mech with a 63 mech. My oval mech was bad (worn) and wasn't working but I think the 63 mech works better overall because it has an extra return spring in it. Wonder why though they say a later Stryker needs to be with a later mech.
