I just got into VWs in January however today I saw this toolbox called the Hazet 190 that was liseted in the "Stolen Forum"
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=643605
Now I have one just like this but its all blue sitting in my basement in great condition. I honestly didnt like it much and was going to throw it away however I have never heard of Hazet tools, are they worth something? I don't have the tools JUST the box.
I googled it and found nothing... |

There should be "Hazet" stamped on it somewhere.

not to piss off everyone that is trying to buy it but....
I have a newer one and I must say it is the best travel tool box I ever had. You may want to hold on to it and try it. |

load it up completely with tools and you will not have that problem. 190 boxes rule. they are still available new. |

My guess would be it's a copy of a real Hazet tool box.
I remember seeing one of those at a swap meet a few years ago. I was all confused because it looked the same and the guy was asking "Hazet money" for it. I am not a Hazet expert so I left it there. |

I too have a newer 190 and i love it. Great to keep a rolling set of tools to throw in the car for trips. And i've taken some sharp turns and it's never tipped over.
I'd say keep it, It's always good to have a basic set of tools and stuff to get you out of a jam while on the road.
Great find anyways :D

I didnt know that Hazet made one like the 190 until after I bought a Stawhille that is identical.
I drove the rep a bit nuts because I wanted all the dimensions before I bought it for very specific reasons- I wanted something fit under the hood and that cantilevered so all the tools are available without having to move the box. I was sick and tired of the craftsman box with hand tray.
It fits under the hood behind the tank in the car, and it cantilevers out over the top of the tank and toward the wiring cover very neatly.
I've got 1/4 and 3/8 sockets on the top shelf one side, 1/2 sockets on the other with a set open end wrenches. Lower shelves hold longer open end wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers. The bottom has the line wrenches and rachet box wrenches as well as a box of misc. small tools. It does not tip over.
If I found one in my basement there is no way I'd let it go. |
