I have a 1968 westy. I'm having problems with my indicators. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Is this a problem with my relay or could it be something else? If it is the relay, where is the relay situated and which relay for this year do I need to replace it? Thanks Dave :?

they are not supposed to work all the time, but work, not work, work, not work... they are blinkers :) no , but seriously though. do your emergency flashers work? or just not the turn signals?

When they aren't working do they stay on steady or do nothing at all? Do both bulbs on that side do something/nothing? Any change when you step on the brakes? Any change if it's wet out? Do all 4 bulbs flash when the hazards are on?
You may have a variety of relays depending on what month your bus was built and if any rewiring has ben done, 2-3 terminals on your hazard switch or 8-10?

Also what have you done thus far to fix the problem?

Grounds?
Bulbs?
Tested for correct voltage a the socket?
Flasher good?

In general, things to check, in rough order of probability (assuming the rest of the bus works OK):

1) grounds on tail light sockets

2) corrosion of tail light sockets

3) same above, front indicator sockets

4) bad, corroded, wrong sized or cross-wired bulbs

5) emergency flasher switch coming apart

6) flasher module

7) turn signal switch failing

8} general turn signal wiring decrepidation

9) supply fuses

10) ignition switch

11) evil spirits (you're on your own with this one...)
