Hello all! I posted this in another forum here- so forgive me if any of you are reading this again...
Our shop is currently reviving the life of a battered Schwimmwagen. While fiddling with the steering we found the stock steering box to be the same as that out of a 68-ish Beetle, so we swapped on in. Unfortunately, the pitman arm is a weird one and it seems to be unlike most others out there. Can anyone identify this? There is a VW casting number- though it's difficult to make out. Hoping it's not Schwimmy-specific! Any help in ID'ing and finding one would be greatly appreciated! Perhaps a reward of a 6 pack of your favorite brew would be in order. :D

I think there is one on the bottom of every pond in Europe!
but seriously, this guy :

is repro-ing Schwimmer tie rods, thats pretty close, he may be of some help :
split and I'm assuming Schwimmer steering box output shafts are tiny compared to your '68 beetle box, will need to fab something up from scratch if you are going that route |

| Thanks for all of the info, guys. I've pm'd Tom to see what he can help with. This poor car has had a really tough life, we're just trying to extend it a bit without added butchery! :) |
