As I was driving my bus home from getting a valve adjustment / oil change, I noticed about half way home the bus suddenly got very loud. I figured it has something to do with the exhaust. I looked under the bus and this is what I found:
I can't even locate this pipe that is broken off in a book, nor the filter looking box that it is coming from.
Does anybody have any idea what this pipe is? Where I can purchase I new one? Any other exhaust recommendations for me based off this pic? |

| the elbow (the rusty looking part with the broken stub on it) has broken its flange off and so has the EGR filter. you need a new filter and elbow or a repair to both of them. you should cap both of them off before doing too much driving. |

Great, thanks for the info! Do you know if a new elbow already has a spot for the EGR filter to hook into, or will this have to be a custom job to get the two to connect? Also, is this a stock setup? I haven't been able to find any diagrams even showing what an EGR filter is, or how it functions within the stock exhaust setup.
Again, Thanks so much for you help. |

your exhaust looks completely stock and original. it also looks in very good shape aside from this rusted connection.
all the elbows come with the EGR port i believe.
the EGR filter is available new, as is the elbow. we have NOS genuine elbows and danish made repros.

the filter is part number 021 131 617F, you may have to hunt for a bit, maybe bus depot. i know i have recently seen them for sale new. |
