I've had so many good comments about my fasty so, I thought that I should tell more about this car.
It's -69 1600TL fastback.
Color: Savanna Beige
Interior: Brown leatherette
Engine: 1600cc Dual-carb, driven about 150k kilometres
It was my uncles one of the first cars after he got drivers licence.
He drove it about 70k. In somepoint it started to leak water inside, under dashboard. He and my grandpa didn't have nerve to start welding it, so they storaged it to the barn(late 80's?? they dont remember exactly when).
Few people tried to buy it throught the years but, my grandpa thought that no one wasn't ready pay enough.
October -08 I got interested about it and asked if he would sell it to me.
Well, I got it free and instantly tear it to pieces.
Few pics of rust damages and repairs
I dropped it 3 splines front and 2 from rear. Front end is sitting bit high but don't worry, I do something for it
This picture everyone has seen:
I managed to find rare OZ Vega set from sweden.
Specs: 5x130, front wheels 7x15 offset 23 and rear wheels 8x15 offset 11.
My deadline to get it ready is 10.6.2010. Then were going sweden to Bug Run.
Few thing to do:
Brakefuilds
Repair fuel tank
Repair few dents
Fit front wings (glassfiber wings are not perfect)
tin rear wings
Carpets
Straighten bumbers
Lights and other electrical work
Exhaust
Paint
MOT
And many more
Positive suprise was that engine runs very well after +20 years.http://www.vimeo.com/9756436

Thanks everybody.
I think I put 175/55-15 to front and 195/55-15 to back.
Those give nice little strech.
Those rims are quite hard to find with those specs.
There is one set in sale in ebay of USA but those are with 5x100 bolt pattern, 7" wide and offset 35.
I haven't found Vega's with 5x130 bolt pattern in sale on internet :P |

me like stretch 8)
it should be mild, but different, you dont see many aircooled cars with a little stretch going on. |

I don't understand why everybody puts like: 205 tire to 5.5" wide rim :?
But everybody got their own style and I think everybody should build cars for them self.
If some one don't like it, F*ck it, it's my car :D
But little update:
I managed to straighten bumbers, front and rear aprons and front wings are best as they get without putting more glassfiber on them.
So car is ready for preparation to paint. Just have to wait that I get hubs from 5x130 drilling. |

No. It's possible to have both, 4x130 and 5x130 in the hubs.
Basicly bolt patterns look like this:
I just have to drill 5x130 to drums.
Ill take pics when I get them back from machining |

I have spend 49 hours in carage just in 5 days.
Now it's almost ready to paint with Savanna Beige.
My little sisters posters went in good use :D
Brake mastercylinder is in under service and after painting, interior and assembly.
Only floor mats need be made to interior. Everything else is in great condition.
Chrome parts need to be polished, bumbers have taken damage. They have few dents and rust. Next winter I try to find better bumbers.
Chrome moulding kit, fender beating set and new exhaust (walker, made in -70's??) are comming in few weeks |
