Luxurious is NOT a word I would associate with a VW Bus.... no matter how much I like them! |

They're called "Jailbars" or "Luggage Bars". I've had them on mine for a while and they're actually really handy. I got mine from Bus Depot a few years ago and they've held up perfectly

I need to get these now 8)

| Well, they make keeping the curtains in order much easier, when the hatch is up they're a great spot to hang wet cloths/towels, when it's dark out it's the perfect spot for a drop light AND... what do ya know... they're great for keeping luggage from banging into your window! Or, when you're shooting the shit about engines at a show and the hatch is up again, it's a cool place to grab onto, hide your middle finger and pretend you care what someone saying about your engine and how there Chevy is so much better  |

It's a 75-76+ thing, early seats are solid. |

So, is that a full custom interior? As far as I know, Lotus white buses with Indian red interiors were only available in 68. At least in the US, maybe Europe had different offerings.
What's with the front high back seats? Is that passenger front 2/3's seat custom made?
Good looking bus by the way. It's a great color combo. |

is there a way to make it fold down without swapping out for a later rear seat? That'd be pretty nifty... |

If you want it to fold down just for the sake of luggage space, you could just unbolt the seat back at the upper outer brackets and move it out of the way. There should be an easy way to make that area a quick release, too. |

Good point, I wonder if Home depot sells M6 thumb screws?, I'll bet Mcmaster carr does, the back is easy to remove on an early bus. |
