  View original topic: The two openings in the the vertical firewall...

Since I am reparing my engine compartment at the moment I have started to wonder what kind of function the two cutouts do have at the bottom of the half-moon-shaped end of the vertical firewall. I am talking about the shape that holds the engine rubber seal above the gearbox/engine.

There is one smaller cutout in close to the middle of the half-moon-shaped engine seal and another bigger opening just beneath where the serial number is.



What are those cut outs used for?

middle is probably for throttle and choke cable clearance.Right one might clear the heater unit ?!

Isn't the other one for the battery cable?
