I still loved the show. The ACVW section definitely had a relaxed, un-ghetto like vibe.

I'm still not bothered by the high prices at the gate, this is still one of my favorite shows to attend. we paid $50 at the gate for for a swap space and one passanger, but this year the price included camping at the front entrance.

i saw 15.00 on the web. get there and the girl takes my 2 20's and i am expecting 10 back. i say excuse me and i said isn't it 15 each? no 20 each! Then later on, when i sat down to eat near the snack booth, i overheard a young guy say to his friend as people were coming down from the grandstands "Hey man, just think thats 20 dollars for each person!" Now that would be true if everyone was just paying 20. Think of all the show car, swap and drag folk paying more to get in. And yes i know you have to pay staff, insurance fees, and make a profit, etc. Anyway, at least that was the best weather at Spring E-town that i can remember.

specially the swap area where I was located, and by that I mean the 20 feet of space within my swap space.

Your swap spot was chill.

As of now I'm rocking those Union 76 balls on the Mazda. I'll put one on the bus as soon as I actually get an antenna.

Nice show. To much Water cooled stuff. And the $20 was crazy. Not sure if I'll go back. I'll save my money for the Conn. shows and Flanders.

I just met Ramone yesterday. (I'm the guy with the silver Thing) He led our small convoy from the rest stop to the show. Nice guy, he even waited for me when I didn't make one of the lights. Congrats on the trophy SOUL RBL.

I would have made you buy something if you came around for a fifth time.

Thanks. I had like three people that were going to buy the tent, but it never happened. Glad it didn't, one just sold on eBay for $898 plus $89 for shipping.

I was quite a bit below that price and people still snickered at the asking price. My tent included of a kind, high quality replacement bags too. Go figure.

There was a nice showing from the fellow Thing owners. Wow! Not a bad one in the bunch. Nice to see such pride taken in those Things. Good show!

I haven't been to this event for a few years, and getting there super early, I mistakenly got in the line for the go kart racing area (where the VW show used to be, from what I remember), and upon paying admission, it was $10 per person as spectators (for my son and I it was $20 total). Once we figured out that we were in the wrong spot, we went back to the cop who was checking the tickets on the inside of the gate, and told him we wanted to go to the VW show. He directed us to the outer lane, where we got in line. Told the ticket seller what happened, showed them our punched tickets, and they motioned us thru. The cop checking the tickets on the other side of that booth frowned a bit, but then let us thru. Guess we saved $20?!

The event was generally interesting and fun, especially for my son, who never saw real live drag racing. Browsing the swap meet was fun, as well as the air cooled cars. The water cooled freak show was also interesting in its own way (though there was a super-nice early GTI that looked pretty stock that was beautiful).

And definitely fun running into old pals like Glenn from LI, and also the CT VW Association guys (Jeremy, Chris, Bill, and Mac).

Thanks to the Central Jersey Club and everyone else who worked hard to make it happen.

i was in atlanta all week and didn't get to respond sooner...

big thanks to the Central Jersey Club and German Squad for a great show. the combined air and water swap was awesome--as a vendor, we heard alot of folks commenting on how they thought it tightened up the show and how it seemed to flow better with the show area and such!

see everyone at Ctown!!!
