I just find this interesting:
In the past I’ve posted a few threads about how I'm always looking for the brothers/sisters of my 1963 VW Oscar.
Well I found a couple, right here on the The Samba.
Just a little history about my 63:
Oscar rolled off the assembly line on May 24, 1963 and left the factory headed for California on May 30, 1963.
Shortly thereafter, he arrived at Oliver Imported Cars, in Berkeley CA (now out of business) and was sold to
the original owner in August that same year. The original owner passed away in 1998, his wife couldn't
bring herself to get rid of the car, so it sat in her garage for 8 years. In January of 2006 a young fellow by the name
of "Oscar" from San Leandro purchased it. He found it necessary to sell the car after only a few months. I purchased
it from him on August 9th 2006 and I continue to call it Oscar because of the owner and because he’s is green like Oscar
the Grouch on Sesame Street.
Samba member DIERNOSAJ from Chicago is buying a 63 VW that is in Baltimore with the VIN # of 5559525 which
is 148 cars earlier then Oscar. So far that’s the closest to my VIN that I’ve ever found. He is purchasing it this month

VolksFire lives in Richmond CA, he noticed that our license plate numbers are pretty close. He was on this thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3...p;start=80
and saw a picture of my VW’s license plate. Oscar’s is BTV 268 and was issued at the Alameda DMV (12 miles from Berkeley.
He owns a 1963 single cab and the plate is BTV 460 and was also issued at the Alameda DMV, we know this because of the
BTV on the plate which is the code for the Alameda DMV. He has paper work that shows his VW, had work done at
Oliver Imported Cars but he is not sure if it was sold through them. If so the registrations could have possibly been issued
the same day, or within a few days of each other. It's cool to see another car from the same area with close license plate.

I posted my Vin# and he saw it.
