Does any one have a soft copy of a pattern for a firewall cover kit? I would prefer making my own. Thanks!

Please elaborate, I don't know what you mean by "firewall cover kit". I assume it is between the engine and rear storage area? Some call the firewall as being in front of the driver and passenger on these cars.

If the engine is out of the car, just make your own pattern using cardboard.
Good luck,
David

Unfortunitly my engine is still in the car. That's why I am looking for the pattern.

I suggest you do what Plantman says... it's likely that one guys diagram/measurements might not be the same as yours. Use cardboard or go to an art store and get the thickest paper you can get - by cutting a little here and there you'll get the size you need...

I bought that Empi firewall kit that cip1 carries and it's a turd... it didn't even come close to fitting.

See if this guy can help - seems like a great product:

I ended up not using the Empi piece that goes between the firewall and engine because I like the look of the ribs on the firewall being painted. I used the Empi side panels but had to do some serious fabrication to get them to fit - and i'm not totally happy with the look. Had i come across the guy in the link above i would have spent the extra dough and bought his product..

Here are a few pics of the engine showing the covered side walls and painted firewall:

Wow, I really like Ric's work on the link 6ghia9 posted, looked for a way to purchase but that firewall doesn't seem to be listed for sale on his site :? PM'd him so we will see...

Ok, he sent me this page to order from:

Thanks for good feedback on the Ghia firewall kit. As I mentioned to slafa, I've been busy enough lately without releasing any new products. That's why I haven't added the Ghia stuff in the regular product section of the Big Wig site. If someone does want one, they can order from the link above, but that's only a temporary location that I use for special orders. When I set it up for sale permanently, I'll post the new URL. Anything ordered now has about a 6 week backlog.

Are the underside of the fender where the side pieces fit the same for all years, or did the dimensions change along with the body style? Same question for the firewall. Is this a "one size fits all" sort of thing?

Thanks to anyone who has an answer.

I don't know for sure, although I'm almost certain the '67 and later are all the same, I'm just not sure about the '66 & eariler. Mine are made off a '59. I sold a set to a guy with a '68 a while back, so I'll check with him to see if he ever installed it and how it fit.

Otherwise, if anyone else knows if there are any dimensional differeces between the early and late cars, speak up.

Pm your address and I will give you mine. The right side of my pattern has been torn off but you can copy it from the left side.

Look at my gallery. Ill trace a side panel for you if needed. My side panels are trimmed with door edge molding from FLAPS
