I bought the car from my cousin ,ive always wanted baja , ive used it as a daily driver to get me to work i fell in love with it from the first few min of driving it, me and a buddy took it out to bowie hot well dunes for its initial shake down and broke it the first hour of play time lol (throttle cable)
right then i decided to do some repairs and upgrades to the thouroughly beat baja

yes it was very simple it costed me approx 500 for all of the front end minus brake lines, i found the beam on ebay with longer tie rods and i could prolly get you the info for the man who built it he said he was contemplating building more ??
only thing i had to modify was the longer tie rod was 3/4 inch to long |

| I had my Tweed's lifted spindle drilled for the speedo. Seems to work well. And, your front end looks like mine, only mine is 6in wider (instead of 8). |

bottom of the pan upfront is at 16 inches off the ground and the adjusters are at zero lift,id prolly be able to gain another 2 to 3 inches cranking them up , with this set up i was looking for down travel without comprimising lift too much, because the old beam was cut and cranked so it sat on the hook stops sitting level and no down travel(really spooky on high speed washboards  ) im hoping this cures that and i get a little down travel.
As for the body year how do i find that??, i can tell the doors used to have wing windows but modified by a PO to take a full glass window?? and i cant tell that it had those little cresent vents on the rear little windows
the speedo hole is in the spindle but it wont reach now  does anyone know of a fix ,do they make a longer one or do i buy another cable cut and tig a longer end piece to the end to fit?? having a speedo is not a major concern but it would be nice ? |

what does your dash/speedo/fuel gauge look like? this might help you figure out the year also.
as far as speedo cable length. i would also like to know about longer ones? cause i plan on widening my front end also, and someday pushing it out farther(longer wheelbase). |
