I was driving to work and heard a loud CLUNK! Found my brakes did not work any more and my steering was a little goofy... I managed to get the car to safely stop by doing circles in a parking lot and and shutting the car off in gear.
After that happened I realized thank goodness I didnt have the tire come off on the highway I was about to go onto. |

Did you have a good lock plate on your spindle nuts??
Or did the spindle break? |

The lock is still on the nuts, just the stock washer snapped and pretty much the bearings ate themselves. Fortunately the local vw shop had everything I needed for 20 bucks.
I haven't got to look it over very much.. I had to leave my baja in a parking lot and goto work.. Which really sucks, I'm hoping it will still be there when I goto fix it.. The people that worked at the shop said it would be fine to leave it there.
I'm just happy I didnt get onto the highway yet.. I couldnt imagine what would have happened at 75mph. |
