Awesome!!! A baja was my first car as well (also the first car I rolled)
That was about 35 years ago. I installed an 1/8 or 1/4 inch piece of steel on the rear firewall to offer more protection for the rear bumper cage mount. I used an old steel headboard and footboard from a bed I found in the woods to make my bumper as it already had the bends i needed.
I was 12 years old and still have half of the key, the part with the VW logo :lol: |

the tank is to big to put it back in the front of the car so i do not know what to do???

| okay guys i have found a guy who will sell me a 1970 vw beetle for $2000 it hole pand and frame has bin redone ($1000) and the car body hasd two small rust spots. he allso has 2 pro build single intake motors ,origional fenders and new fenders , it also comes with a complet doner car with it idk guys what should i do mine has so much rust all the wheel wells and pan and heater chanels along with rust everywhere what should i do????? :?: |

Can you take any pictures of your pans? How bad is your rust? On the other hand, a 1970 should already have irs. Is it a baja? |

Simmbad and Bearkiller do a nice job with their stock gas tank, people use the same concept with aluminum ones too. (scroll down a bit)
