A buddy of mine wants to do a Ecotec swap into his buggy. Motors the easy part. Got that under control. Can you guys give me the best places to find adapters, headers, harnesses(new or reworked), computers(new or reworked). I have found some, but you guys usually find a lot more.

I think the package can be pieced together a littler cheaper than that. You buy good used complete motors for $300.00 all day long..

CBM (custom built motors) also does a lot of ecotec stuff, they have their own harness as well as an adapter plate and everything else you would need.

There are a few topics here on the ecotec swap. Do a search on a few of my postings about it. I did the swap on my sandrail.

My friend used a Kennedy adapter with no issues. We also trimmed the stock wiring harness to use as well. We had a friend of ours flash the ECM with HP Tuners to get rid of the chipped key feature and turn off the check engine light for all of the stuff that was missing (HVAC, emissions, auto tranny, etc.)
We're also using the stock exhaust manifold as well. It doesn't really get in the way, and its free. |

Sold the Heep. The guy that bought it did buy the Swampers I was looking at. Buying a Baja. Wait till you see this one. I know a guy who was considering a Ecotec swap and I'm sourcing some parts for him. He was going to drop $5000 on the setup and I think we can do it for around $1500 with a low miles motor.
