How do you guys with big engines cope with the stock seats?
I've got a hot 1835 in my split & even with a seatbelt on I'm bouncing around so much I can barely keep my foot on the pedal. Shifting 1st to 2nd when pulling away quickly is the worst, as soon as I get on the gas after shifting I'm off then on again.
The seats are in great shape, not sagging at all. It must be down to the springs but I can't think of an answer short of changing to more modern seats like 70's 911 tombstones re-upholstered in Ricardos 1950 delux material.
Anyone else got this problem? Anyone got an answer?

I have a split with a little bit of horsepower and I don't have that problem with stock seats.

Hmm, just me then. Maybe it's the crappy roads around here and the low profile tires but I seem to get bounced around quite a lot.
Are you guys using a stock roller pedal or a hinged one? I've got a hinged one, the problem seems to be connected to the rebound during the shift. After being thrown back while accelerating I get thrown back again after the shift & can't keep my foot on the gas. It doesn't happen all of the time, but it's annoying when it does. Must look amusing from outside the car though

Sounds just like a broken / loose front transmission mount.

Drive it like you stole it and seats will not be an issue..

A couple of friends in Sheffield put a 2180 motor into a 51 for a customer - on the first test drive my mate gave it a bootfull and ripped the seat rails clean off the pan!
