Hey all!
I'm not sure this thing I have is even VW. Maybe someone can help me?

I bought a pair of used blade bumpers for my beetle back in Nov. of '09 off of Craig's List. The seller threw in this odd looking metal box that has two doors in the front that conceal a radiator type structure. On the back, there is a fan with to exhaust ports. It appears to be entirely electric.
I have not been able to find any identification marks on it.
What'ya think?

I could be wrong but I say no way was that thing ever made by VW nor came originally in a VW. Looks very much like a lot of heaters in American cars of the late 30s early 40s.

I have this posted on another VW forum and i am getting the same feed back that you have given me.

The guy that gave it to me was not a VW guy and said that he ended up with it because a guy he knew left it...and the bumpers at his house a loooong time ago. This 3rd guy said he removed it from an old bus....im thinking when he said "old bus", he did not mean VW bus......but rather and Old Bus.

I think that it is most likely junk and will be finding a new home in my garbage can :)

Looks like something out of an early 50s Ford or Chevy truck.
