Well I have a 56 oval ragtop. I want to paint it Texas Brown. My question is what color to paint the steering column? I was going to paint it the same color that I painted the seat frames...eggshell white.
Any pics out there?? |

| I would paint it ivory. But if you already painted your seat frames eggshell white i would paint it that color to match. |

| To further this thread a bit... I need to paint the interior parts like the column and e-brake the stock color. John Henry mentioned a rattle can color ( L79 ?) or somthing from WW. Is there a close match availale from local auto parts store that would work well? |

Here is the paint codes.
If you go any local paint shop they should be able to match that if you give them the color code. |

X3 Just make sure you prep the surface well. I go down to bare metal, use an etching primer, sealer primer then paint. If you dont it will chip fairly quickly/. |

| Thanks guys for the quick response. I will go with the eggshell for the steering column too. And I forgot about the emergency handle....will do that also. |

| Excellent help as always 8) I will be sourcing some rustoleum. I got my shell back from the paint shop and I'm super motivated to get her done. It's only been 5 years. |

| I've heard Krylon Ivory too. I'm using that for steering column, seat frames, e-brake, etc. |

Thats what I have been using. Krylon indoor/outdoor Satin Ivory.
I only had one problem with it an I was trying to paint plastic speaker covers without priming them.
At 3.00 bucks a can from walleyworld its not too bad. |
