I already have the brown interior, with the oatmeal carpet. Not sure what color headliner to buy?? Tan...white....or off white??
I am leaning towards off white. But I would like to see some interiors that are painted the texas brown.

My car is Texas Brown with a black interior and a gray headliner. The black is tough to keep clean, but looks really nice to me. I will post some photos when it gets light out tomorrow.

Off white would be my choice... :D

Yep, off white all the way for Texas Brown. Just some useless photos to show a Texas Brown interior, none of the headliner unfortunately.

Another note, most people mix Texas Brown wrong. Most cars seem to be more like Medium brown for splits. Texas should have a hint of green in it, rather than a hint of red like most browns. If that makes sense?

In this photo you can see where the decklid, valence and wings have been repainted recently. Compare this colour to the colour of the rest of the body. The body is not in OG paint, it has had a repaint in the 80s, but compared to areas of original paint it is a pretty damn good match. The wings etc do not match at all, but most cars are painted this colour.

Im yet to see one Texas Brown car painted right apart form this one, the sunroof car in Volksworld came close but was still not quite right. It is notoriously difficult to mix.

That looks really nice. I think you're interior would look really sharp if you painted your horn button (outer rim) and your drink basket a contrasting brown - something darker. Not stock, just my 0.02 :P

I can see how that would work actually. 8)

It's my parents car and was repainted in the mid 80s, this is starting to show signs of decay so I think the plan is to get it re-done (along with making good a few repairs) to make it last another 55 years. I dont envy them trying to get a colour match, the guy who repaired the back end certainly didnt.

Wow that interior looks really nice. I hope that mine can look half as nice. I picked up some 320 sandpaper an a quart of Texas Brown. I still have to take the rest of my dash apart and start sandind down the doors, jams an the dash. The bodyguy is going to come an tape everything off an base coat clear the inside for me. I an excited. I wish I had the money to do the whole car right now.....but at least the interior will be 100 % done. Thanks for all your help.
If I could ever figure out how to post pics I would start a build thread.

Seanboy is this the car your going to paint texas brown?

seanboy69 Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:39 pm

Yes that is my project. I was going to go a shade of green....but I saw a Texas Brown Ghia on here an really liked the color.

A buddy is comming next week to help me lower the back. I measured the distance from the rear fender lip to the tire an its 4 1/2 inches away!!! Gonna go down two clicks for sure

Also I gotta pop the tires off an sandblast the rims. Gonna powdercoat the rims off white or a cream color.
