so my niece was visiting and brought my Christmas present. She picked it up in a German Christmas market. It's titled "1946", was made by Embalit and shows a nice variety of WW2-vintage VWs. Oh, and it's embossed - certain parts of the picture are raised to give the illusion of depth.
I can't find any information on it anywhere, beyond a German Wikipedia page that describes Embalit as a Berlin based maker of steel promotional signs.
anyone seen anything like it?

These have been around for some time now. I first saw them in the early 80's at a VW Club of America Convention in Clevland.
I believe there is a set of 4 or 5. |

I doubt that, as it's set in 1946 and the car in the picture is blue, not black. By 1946, the VW factory was in the hands of the British army, and managed by Major Ivan Hirst.
Besides, it's just a drawing - not supposed to document any specific event. |
