I haven't seen that Ghia in a while so I'll be there early as well. Just watch for the suitcase on wheels with the fool driving on the wrong side of the car. =D

My wife changed the dates for our trip so we can have Easter Dinner with her friends. So, I told her in no uncertain terms I was going to Boomers with a bunch of VW people. She said OK!!! :o

I told a friend about the Saturday meet and he said he would be there. He's not on this site but he's driving an early bay.

Just by way of an update, I now count 9 reasonably solid attendees for the Boomers event.

So far the Bob's thing is just me, Nate, and Blarneyman +1.

It might be +2 with me. My daughter is 99% for sure on the 27th as well. She drives a 73 beetle.

Well, I sincerely hope we get a good turnout. I posted an announcement on the WWU forums because I've seen some Beetles and one sweet micro bus in the Parking Lots, but no responses. I really hope Scottz can show up because although I'm not an owner, I'm obsessed with Karmann Ghias. Also, Nate M. I'll be good to see you because I had brought my Beetle to a shop here in B'ham (Fairhaven actually) and was incredibly disappointed with their service and had decided driving out to Anacortes would be worth it next time just for some knowledgeable service.

They had my car for over a month, quoted me 165$, but then when I showed up they said it was 867$, they replaced unnecessary parts and said they had "lost" my original parts when I asked for them back. What a joke. I will never go there again. Not to mention, my car wouldn't even drive out of the lot, and the gauge still does not function. I'm not exaggerating in any way either. True story.

Excellent! Looks like I'll be coming straight from work, so I should be there at ~5:45, assuming my relief shows up on time.

BTW, I contacted Boomer's and gave 'em a heads up about the April 3rd event - they will be pleased to have us. One thing though - he asked me the name of the group, and I didn't know what to tell him!

I just realized I'm going to be "in town" already on saturday night for Church services at 5:00 and 6:30, but I can swing by after that. Since my only VW is stripped down to the body and pan, I won't be recognized as a VW guy in my F150. I hope you guys can forgive me for that!

I just wanted to bump this thread and mention again that I will be there around 5:30 cuz I have to leave by 6:15. Bummer!
So, I hope a few of you show up early so I can say hi!

Quite a few intrepid souls braved the weather and showed up at Boomer's for our first event - we stopped counting cars at 16, but a few more trickled in after that!

Met some cool folks, saw some some cool rides, and a good time was had by all. I'll add some photos tomorrow, maybe.
