I have a home on an island in Lake Erie where it is legal to drive golf carts on the road. I would like a longer one to haul more people, like the photo I posted. Are there any threads about such a beast? |

the beast
Thats pretty cool, but the island we are on has no sand, it is all rock. I want to drive this on the road only, kinda like an extended golf cart. The golf cart I have now is only 9hp, and would be a dog if I stretch it. |

| Check out Way out salvage web page. They have a bay buss they stripped to a 6 seat baja. It wouldn't be hard to stretch it a little more and make it an 8 seater. If ya do it give me a shout I don't have property but I have friends on the Island I'd like to play with something like that. |

| Cool looking bus. I would like a bus chassis because of the gear reduction. Speed isn't an issue because you cant go much faster than 35 because of the huge number of tourists in the summer. |

| Remember you only get the reduction boxes on Pre- 68 buses when they went to IRS the reduction boxes were dropped. Somebody jump in if I have the year wrong. |

| Very cool, but a bit more power than I will need. I'd get in trouble with that beast. |

| Please excuse the phone pic. Here is the 9 passenger buggy I am building to run on an island in Lake Erie. I used 1.750 X .120 1026 stress relieved DOM tubing for the majority of the frame. The diagonal tubing is 1.000 X .095. It will be just over 20 feet when I get the front bumper installed.I am using the front seats and the rear bench seat, along with 4 boat seats in the center two rows. [img][img][/img] |
