just cant think of wich one

the Gloss shows more defects
but...
All Flat

mix of both

the chrome spokes and the ring that connects them is taped off and will Stay chrome

what you think

the flat will be Primer or Matte clear coat
and the gloss will be enamal or even hammered look

Have you tried a satin? That's my vote!

sharkskinman Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:52 pm

i was thinking about a Satin or Hammered

czykvw Fri Mar 12, 2010 6:54 pm

i usually like flat, but in this case gloss looks good

throw alittle filler on that rust pits and do gloss.

seanboy69 Sat Mar 13, 2010 6:47 am

My vote is flat...after you smear some filler in the pits.

It's probably going to peel off of the chrome. I'd go with satin also.

sharkskinman Sat Mar 13, 2010 11:29 am

the filler will peal off of the chrome

satin seems maybe a good medium

with some primer underneath
any paint should stick

so i finished with a satin clear coat

Might just use a Flat or an Ultra-Flat
like they use in Camo

but i want something that will stay black

what do you think

tried some Filler Primer
but didnt do what i wanted it to

maybe strip it and redo it with some filler
maybe some of this

here's mine I did this weekend, two more to go. gloss black, then silver wheel paint, then gloss clear

the original finish (thats silver paint, these were not originally chrome)

better now

and if I were you, I would go buy tires and make sure you can with the wide rims in the rear. I know better on a long swing axle, so I traded off my nice 5.5's for the 4.5's you see above. it can be done with some fender rolling and inner lip bashing, but I diddn't want to go there this time. Just sayin, you don't want to spend all this time painting just to find out they don't fit
