I know that this topic may offend the Purists, but I'm not one, so please understand I am looking for advice not criticism.
Here is my situation, I love the split window front end and I love the layout of the Bay window camper, so my question is why not have both? Has anyone ever seen a Bay window with a Splitty front? I’ve got a body guy willing to help me take on the challenge and I can order a Splitty front end brand new to customize, but I wanted to get some advice first. So, I open it up to the great Samba Nation.
Thoughts anyone? |

It's been done plenty of times. Look overseas, lots of examples that way. Just add a bay camper set up to a split and call it a day if that's what you like.
IMHO the split/bay catastrophe belongs in the abortion thread. |

Has there ever been a more deformed, I mean sexy Volkswagen?
... Fundamental problems of it, in my opinion, are that it looks nothing like a splitty, and ruins the look of a nice bay. |

| Modify the insides of a Bay Westy interior and call it a day. It will look better, be less work, and it won't make your friends vomit every time you pull up. |

That thing is really neat. Classic looks with a better interior. |

That is a BaySplit, from an English company that tried to make it work.
They went belly up.
As it should have. |

Thanks for the pix. It really helps to actually see it. Like I said in my original post, I know it was against all the VW purist, but I appreciate the visual.
Most of you have mentioned putting Bay Camper interiors into Spittys. Does anyone have pix they can post on here? Thanks. I'm a super newby when it comes to this stuff, so all of your input helps. |

For some reason that one looks better... maybe because of the signal lights. The ledge under the windshields don't look as big either.
It's still wrong. |
