Yesterday I went for a drive and had my headlights on due to rain, I must have for got to turn them off, went out this morning and it would not turn over and I noticed that my headlight switch was pulled out. I jumped off the battery and let it run for a few minutes went back out about 20 minutes later and dead again. I popped off the 2 tabs on the battery and the water level or acid level was very low, I added about 20 - 22 ounces of water and jumped it off again. it has been 30 minutes and it cranks, The battery was bought and put in on 9-8-08. If it should not crank again I need a new battery right?

Thanks

No. You need to get the battery fully charged up before you can pass judgement on it.
If you drive long distances to work, it'll probably be up in a few days. If not, you need to put a battery charger on it for a couple of days.
Auto repair shops can load test it.

I'd do like Bruce said above. Fully charge it then get it load tested. You never know if you have a bad cell or something.

Additionally, I'd also check the voltage on the battery while the car is running. I'd do this just to make sure the gen/alt and voltage regulator are all functioning properly as well.

From the sounds of it though, your battery is the weakest part.
