May I park with Walter?? Since my truck is a non VW and I do not want any surprises.

I just spoke with the board and the rules are no VWs over night. I am very sorry. We are looking forward to meeting you and having Walter amongst us by his old resting place.
Have a safe trip and hopefully you won't have to stop and help anyone on the way up the hill next Friday!

May I park with Walter?? Since my truck is a non VW and I do not want any surprises. My tools are in the back for service. If not allowed in the gate I will get a room for the event. I just want to be prepared.

I started in the VW dealership as a tech in 1975. Will have a tow strap and tools with me. If I see any of you guys on the way up with problems I will try to help.

Look forward to the event. I am prepping a 76 and a 79 Bus for the trip also.

Dave

Unfortunately, no non-VWs are allowed in the campground overnite. There is parking available near the campsite, within very close walking distance.

Thing is, once we make an exception for one vehicle, then that opens the door......

There is near by parking available though, and we do have people up at night keeping an eye on things. Some people just won't go to sleep.

The Korridorwachenkommandant (read: corridor 'hall monitors') has asked everyone in attendance to observe lines establishing corridors or thoroughfares thru the campgrounds. (read: DO NOT SET UP CAMP IN THE CORRIDORS!) The fire department has asked that corridors be established & maintained throughout the event weekend for emergencies. If you set up camp and are asked to move, please do not hastle the korridorwachenkommandant or his deputies, just move your...... camp, please.

The ABC has had alot of feedback regarding the organization (or lack thereof) of the campgrounds. The answer to this is to have aisles established throughout the campground for access purposes. Areas for group camping will still be available but, please help us to maintain the corridors. This observance will make the fire department happy, it makes the other campers happy, it makes the event staff happy that everyone else is happy, and their happiness is important as happiness is everyone's goal for the weekend.

Thank you.

Happy Jerome weekend everyone.

THANK YOU RONNIE and the LBB! (and for anyone who doesn't know splitpile he's the guy who donates generously each year to the raffle bus and graces us with his presence at Jerome selling all sort of split window accouterments...oh yeah, fresh pics as of Saturday 9-11

Hey all!! I know the big caravan rolls out at 8:00am, but I was seeing when another group is leaving... There are some of us who unfortunately can't get out of work on Friday

So let me know what time everyone wants to leave!

Thanks in advance

We have a caravan leaving Thursday at 5am from the inland empire if anybody wants to go with a group. Should have between 7-10 buses.

VTO-1 Wed Sep 15, 2010 2:54 am

Whats VTO 111?

gerg Wed Sep 15, 2010 9:09 pm

Spun a disc hub today, but through what seemed like a relay race for my sanity, I will be getting the new one in the morning. I plan to come up Saturday morning earlllllllllly . . . .

Does anyone bring pets or are they even allowed?

Sure, heck we have a Pet Show Contest…just keep them on a leash okay?

I consider all my past girlfriends to be pets. jk. Of course pets are allowed. Within reason, right? Dogs, cats, small rodents etc. That would be just like a bus person to ask a question and then show up with a gorilla or black bear, maybe a bobcat or a puma and then claim "hey, you said pets were allowed!"

salty dog Thu Sep 16, 2010 2:34 pm

Went through Jerome on my way to my Shop this morning and there are already Buses in town. Think it's gonna be big, been seeing them coming through Clarkdale already. :D

Reavis Thu Sep 16, 2010 3:49 pm

Can hardly wait to cruise and photograph the caravan!!!!!
Look forward to visiting old friends and making new ones!

:P
