I have changed from generator to altenator. Do you know if these harnesses accomodate that?

Anybody know if I can use the 73-74 harness that is setup for the AL82 alt in my 70 that's been converted?

There were a lot of electrical changes in the 73-73 model years regarding the fusebox and lighting. I think you'd be better using the correct '70 harness and converting the wiring for an alternator. I have not done the conversion, but it can't be more than a couple of wires different.
Most likely the harnesses are all built by the same company. I bought mine from KGPR and it fit perfect, an exact twin to the OE German. Buy the whole harness kit and not just the main harness.
Good Luck! |

I talked to Kustom 1 Warehouse and they said that the 70 with the alternator modification was available for $295. They don't list any Ghia harnesses on their website but they can special order them from Wiring Works.

I figured I would want a complete harness, I see some that say dash and back...does this not include the wiring for the front of the car (headlights, turn signals, etc. No biggee to convert a 70 harness to accomadate an alternator, was just asking. Thanks for the tips people I'll use this information to help me find the best one!

Purchase in-line style fuses with waterproof caps and wire it yourself. Unless you are trying to build an OEM show car modernize and do it yourself...http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3150583&CAWELAID=197241778
