My Current setup which is in a bus I have never had running yet. (2) H 32/34 PDSI Carbs. #2 on Driver Side and # 3 on passenger. This bus has paper filters on top of each. Oddly there were no vacuum line ports on either. No hoses either for that matter! It is a vacuum advance dist.

I picked up these 2 german Solex 32-34 #2 carbs to steal the vaccum ports out of.

In the bottom pic you can see where I stuck the port in the braz. one I have. Although I could not get carb fluid to spray through here. I probed with a paper clip and it seems solid.

Also notice the top on mine is diff from the german ones.

Also on mine in the top pic there is no 2nd vacuum port on the base for vacuum retard. Or on the pass. side one either.
Any ideas.???

Thanks!

Nobody? Could the PO have switched tops on driver side carb? Hmmmm

Those are the older aftermarket carbs from Brazil sold many years ago by places like cb performance and other vendors ( the ones they sell now days are a bit different I believe) .

They are not the same set up as the "factory" dual Solex's were (with the LH carbs using the central idle system in them). as you can see from what your dealing with.

Should I try and use one of the stock german carbs on the left? Not sure where else I can get advance and retard vacuum from.

Any help on this? Thanks!

I'd go with the German ones personally. Adding a vacuum line isn't as easy as just sticking it in the side of the carb, most need to connect to passages that aren't there in an undrilled carb and some require some very precise drilling.

Thanks. I only have the driver side German carb. Can I mix that with the other right side carb from Brazil? I think I only need the vacuum for advance and retard on the left? The right side can be capped off.

Should work, check the jet sizes.
