Had to get the old '60 out for a little exercise, and found someone's crocuses blooming by the side of the road, making for a seasonal photo-op...

I was just admiring your wonderful little car and the picture in the gallery earlier :)
I already stated that I drive my 63 all the year round. Snow, hail, rain, high temps, you name it; this is my daily driver. I did however get my little snark sailboat out the other day.
I love my little snark :P

wow today was the best day sofar here in Chicago suburbs.
65 and sunny. Took half the day off and was gonna register my new '63 but the emergency brake disconnected last night because I over extended it. That was a job and a half trying to figure out how that went back together before I took it apart and fixed it in 5 minutes lol.
Rain in the forecast tomorrow but temps still up there, if it doesn't rain ill be registering the bug and getting a bite to eat somewhere. |

What a neat thread! I admire all the beautiful VWs (& sailboat too), and salute alll their enthusiastic owners (& captains)!
Happy Friday, and it looks like we may have a reasonable weather weekend upcoming here in CT also--Saturday probably better than Sunday, but still looking forward to driving the '60 Bug up to Simsbury on Sunday to take in a bit of the CT VW Association's Spring kick-off party. |

Weather here in Sonoma, County CA is just beautiful, great for driving Oscar. :D
Took him to the office Thursday & Friday (3/18-19/2010. It’s a 54 mile round trip
from Cloverdale to Windsor, straight run down Hwy 101.
Looking to run him all weekend. |

So perfect this weekend (70 deg) our club took a cruise...
Nothing like having a mile long line of VW's to stop everybody in their tracks.

That is a great looking car!
Right On!.. Thats one thing about "most" (not all) VW owners, they, drive thier cars. Not like the snobs and show guys. For cryin' out loud, put your freaking towel and California duster down and drive that VW. |

I guess this is motivation to get that motor back together and into the Super Vert!!
It's been COLD in the garage, sucks the motivation right out of you!
dave
I hear you brother! I braved 50F degrees in the garage on Saturday and started poking around on my 66. It didn't handle the long winter's nap very well. Murray woke up cranky and won't idle. Time for a carb rebuild, stock dizzy and a stock fuel pump. I've wanted to get back to stock anyway:)
Ugh.
I was out in the garage doing all sorts of things at 25-30 degrees all winter long... With a karosene heater though... |

| Man, some of you guys need to man up  I drive all year long, sun rain snow whatever. The whole point of having a fun car is really DRIVING it, not just pussy footing around town. Drive 'em like they're supposed to be driven, hard and often! |

It's been 17 days since the bug joined us. Now it replaces the bus as kids' favorite ride to school. Other kids agree with this choice. |

My son and I put over 150 miles on our '60 Bug on Sunday (3/21), driving up to Simsbury, CT, to participate in the CT VW Association's "Spring Kick-Off Party." Great weather here in Connecticut brought out a good number of oldies, including a couple of "newbies" also (foreground):
Thanks Connecticut VW Association for organizing the gathering - http://www.ctvwa.org/ |
