I use Grundy, have had them for 10 years now. I have 4 cars on the policy (they now refer to my cars as my "collection" :lol: ). I have been impressed with them, and they have been very agreeable when I got new cars, wanted to adjust agreed values, etc.

I have not made a claim, but have a friend who restored a '59 and has Grundy as well. A few months ago a woman pulled out in front of him and he hit her, flattened the fender against the tire, wrinkled the inner quarter panel a bit, messed up the apron. Nothing too horrible. Her insurance company was contacted and it was clearly her fault.

Of course her company want to total the car. Grundy went to bat for him, even though they weren't paying the claim. Telling the other company "Don't you get it? Its a classic car he insures for $17k with us". The repairs are almost done, and up to about $7500 I think. Grundy has been there for him to make sure things move along.

I have heard similar stories from others who have had accidents with Grundy covered cars.

If you use you ACVW for a daily driver, classic car insurers are simply not an option. However, if you drive them selectively, and especially if you become a good client for them (payments on time, long time customer) they are there for you like they should be. They insure multi million dollar collections, they know what they are doing, know the insurance industry and know about collector cars.

It was a bit hard to get my first car insured, I had to send pics, appraisal, pics of the garage where it is stored, etc. But subsequent cars I just called them, told them what I had bought and they gave me a quote and sent the needed paperwork out the next day. Later I sent pics, and other details. I highly recommend them.

My '51, completely disassembled and in different parts of my property, is also insured by them. Not for much, but it allowed me to also register the car on a '51 YOM plate I bought recently.

We were lucky in Montreal this year. We didn't have much of a Winter at all. As I type this the little snow we did have is just about gone and the temperature is 15c.

A few kilometers more in the west of Germany close to the dutch border we can see the first signs of spring since some weeks, I took the splits already out for a ride, each.

BTW I was going to see my friend who has a 1951 split. Yes there are those, but this one has been on the road 59 long years like a daily driver!

mt split was out too...
snow was not very kind with it, first signs of my bad work are present, just like spring, but first of all, it's driving again. we went out for shopping, 3 streets away :lol:

It was a hidden advertisement from Mika :wink: He did those running boards and I found correct rubber for June -52 split from one Finnish manufacturer. Molding is a cheap repro - unfortunately.
BTW if you need one set of those matts, I still have one which I could sell.
