Hello all i just bought me a 64 ghia this past weekend, I have owned buses for almost 10 years and decided to get another vw. It has a 1914 in it its 12volt. Radio was cut into the dash. Everything else is fairly stock or the stock parts came with the car. Most things are in visibly good condition.

My question is I know the vin numbers started 56xxxxx For the model 64 year my vin is 5851539 I was thinking November 63? Does anyone have a vin close to mine that knows when there ghia was made?

For now I like the blue , It was ruby red the front compartment is still original paint in good condition you can see there isnt any flaws up there. I will most likely lower the front and narrow the beam at least 2 inches.

Nice ride! Don't know about the vin. but you do have the earlier front turn signals (changed mid year '64). How's the interior, just as nice?

I spoke to that guy last week...if that was they guy in Madera. I bought one from NC 2 days ago..it's also a 64 and my vin isn't near that number.. good luck with your ghia :)

Yes, very nice car man. Great find. Your ghia does have the wrong turn signals, my 61 came the turn signals that go on your car. If you ever decide to sell them, let me know.

Now when you say wrong turn signals what do you mean ? The ones on there are trashed sadly the chrome is good but someone welded new mounting screws on them (horrible) and they home made new prongs that connect the bulbs. So they work but they are garbage.

those look like the right turn signal bases to me, they just don't have the rings or lenses.

he was a decent guy threw in all the original+extra parts with the car. But there is alot of little things that were not done right

So far I have done rear brakes, axle seals, Wiring up front ,Turn signals , Wiring in the engine compartment. Washed and cleaned the car/windows. New speakers for the stereo.

Very nice & clean '64!

My VIN# is: 5932240 and the original color was also Ruby Red.

Enjoy...hopefully I'll see your Ghia among the shows.
