I love the look but hate the ride. the older I get, they seem to raise up more and more, and the money is put into more important things like handling and engine work instead of being on the road. I also drove most of my vws slammed with Irs conversions. Once I started driving dumped swing axles, I got tired of repairing parts that broke or needed chronic tinkering (splines in drums, fulcrums, tranny sounds, crap handling on wet roads, brake lines snapping, crap handling on dry roads, broken mufflers and knocking headers loose, tires lasting no time... I just leave the back close to stock height now and enjoy the better handling/overall safety feeling.

I want the lowered look and good ride quality, that's why I'm spending a ton of time on my pan doing a rear torsion raise and pie cutting the front tunnel to lower the car 2" front, 3" rear without touching the suspension. dropped spindles and 1 spline on the rear will get it down even more and it will still ride like a dream. I am putting a 4" narrowed beam in with adjusters and adjustable spring plates for that "stupid" low look at shows and when I go racing.

The local cops love the negative camber look here. It's and instant $100 ticket, manditory vehicle inspection which means returning your suspension back to stock, no matter what you did, and free ride on a hook to the storage compound of their choice. All tolled about $350 plus what ever it takes to make your car stock and pass the safety inspection

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, notice the initials are S.S. , which is the organization that trained our traffic patrols.

Between them and SGI (our public insurance) they have manged to suck all the fun out of the car culture in town.

2 years ago they handed out over 250 tickets and impounded about 40 cars for violations.....on our cruise weekend, where 1500 cars show up to celebrate this great automotive hobby and bring 10s of thousands of dollars into our local economy.

They actually had a check stop set up cruise night, on the main drag and were pulling over anything that wasn't a loser cruiser (minivan) or 4 door grocery getter and doing a roadside INSPECTION of the car, not just asking for a license and registration and checking for booze, which I'm fine with.

People were outraged, city hall was bombarded with complaints, and the police cars cruising the strip were pelted with slurpies and big gulps by people sitting in parking lots taking in the cruise. and the foot patrols were booed at the big show Sunday that fills up the streets of our downtown.

May is safety inspection month, the annual clean the crap off the streets campaign where they set up surprise road side inspections all over the city. So my buggy doesn't stray too far from home. Cruise around the neighborhood and that's about it. We wait for the street nazis to finish their campaign, and then all the cool cars come out to play.
