thank you for looking

i have a 1970 baja with a few modifications done by the PO. i just recently fixed my tie rods myself, when i finished i was having problems with my brake as in the pedal sinks all the way down when i brake and it takes a long time for the car to stop. i have the drums on all 4's, i have tired bleeding the brakes and checked the wheel cylinders. i dont know how to check the master cylinder, but the master cylinder has two sets of wires coming out of it and going to a relay?????
this is my daily driver so i need to fix this before i end up crashing
any advice is greatly appreciated.

Where the brakes working correctly before you worked on it?

What happens if you pump the brakes? Do you get a firmer pedel or better braking?

the brakes were working before i was working on it, i dont know if this was a coicidence
the pedal does not get harder when i pump them, but when i brake the pedal sinks and when i go to brake for the second time the pedal stops at a certain point and my car brakes a little better, but if i pump the brakes the pedal does not get harder.

Sounds like the master cylinder is toast. They are relatively inexpensive and relatively easy to replace. You will need ten inch fingers, twenty inch biceps and the patience of Job to replace it. All silliness aside they are not technical to replace, but are a pain in the butt to get to.

Have you checked to see of you accidentally causes the tubing from resivour (in trunk) that supply them master cylinder to be come disconnected?.....

i checked the resoviouir its not the tubing, how can i check if the master cylinder is working because i try to replace, so that i wont have to go trough the hassle and then not fixing the problem?

if the peddal is just spongy then its most likely yor master. if you want to be sure then get a friend and have them pump the brakes and you just run around the car and check all the lines and soft lines for any leaking or buldging... make sure you look at the hard line that starts at the master and ends at the back. i had one leak on me and it gave almost the same feeling as a blown mastter, you just couldnt see the leak because it was under carpet.
