Trying to get input on a reliable, simple carb to work on that will work with my 1973 Square. Doesn't have to be stock VW. I'm willing to spend a reasonable amount of cash if I end up with better performance and/or reliability.

Have 3 carbureted Type 3's. Two are converted from FI. Carbs on one are totally shot, castings are warped beyond salvage. I'm guessing they were on a car that burned because no way this could be normal wear and tear.

All my cars are stock 1600's. One has the 32 PDSIT carbs, one has the 32-34 PDSI3 (type 4 carbs). The bad ones are the 32 PDSIT.

Stock motor = stock carbs. Get a set from the classifieds, have them rebuilt (worn throttle shafts are common) and you're good to go. I have a box full of stock T3 carbs and manifolds in various conditions, no ad in the classifieds but would be will to help someone out if needed.

I've got a bunch of carbs sitting here too, Tod. You never asked me about those. We'll have to take a look next time you're out here.

Thanks! I'm starting to think you have a lot more stuff hidden around there than you let on. I just don't want to be one of those people that asks for something every time they call. Old saying about always going to the same well and eventually it dries up.

go with a set of stock Solex's or a set of Weber 34 ICT's on a stock engine... preferably the Solex's...

x2

a set of Stock Solex 32 PDSITs shouldnt be hard or too expensive to get
and get complete

I would trade my currently installed running driving 34 ICTs, linkage and DP manifolds for running driving stock carbs linkage and DP manifolds. Just wanna go back to stock
