I pulled this off of a 60's Beetle.
Can one tell if it is original?

If this is from your '66 then I don't thik it's original to the car. '66 had a unique pattern with plain vinyl on the outside of the seating surfaces and a funky basket weave in the centers.
When I redid my '66 I used TMI and bought extra plain material then had a local shop take the covers apart and add the plain sections.
This is the only picture I have.

HI Darby,
Yes it's from the 66 Standard. I am also trying to ID seat frames on another topic to see what I have.
Does yours have the fabric that "rolls" over the top? From what I understand that type of upholstery requires a 65-67 seat frame. For mine I would have to find a 65 without the latches on the bottom.
This is the seat out of the 66 STD..
On the Right.

The pics above are blocked from my view until tonight, but here is a pic
of the 1966 only upholstery pattern and the 65-67 style backrest.
I am not certain if your Standard would have this DeLuxe Leatherette material or not... |

Brian,
I'm not an expert on Standard models, behaps someone from Europe will chime in. The deluxe models backrest changed in 1965 and the above photo is a great picture of what original '66 (deluxe) seats should look like. |

Hi the seat upholstery/cover you have is original factory.
Take a look in my gallery pics, they may be helpful. I took loads of pics of my 62 front seats when I stripped them down to repair original upholstery. |

I'm thinking the bug had the seats changed at sometime. Every piece of literature I have found shows 65 style seats in a 1200A.
So, looks like I need a couple of '65 front seat backs. |
