I picked up this Fastback as a Father and Daughter project. I have never worked on a VW or any aircooled before, but I have a manual on order. The Fasty is basically complete, just needs a restoration, but for now, it will be a rolling project. Until my manual get here, which isn't soon enough, I have some questions.
Where is the fuel pump at on this car? It's FI, I think. I thought it would be by the fuel tank, but the PO has removed some parts and finding where parts go aren't as obvious as I thought they would be.

So it mounts on the beam? That could be why I cant find it, PO took it off. I have one, just didn't know where it mounted and how to hook it up. All the fuel lines and I don't know what goes where. I still need to check the pump to see if it even works.
Thanks Seanz0rz |

no problem. i had to look it up in the bentley manual, i havent gotten to that part just yet on my square (soon though!)
there are apparently a few styles of fuel pump, so i would wait to do anything with it until you get your manual. |

yes the pump should be on the passenger side of the beam
the bigger line out of the tank goes to pump then into a "Disc" looking thing then into a Metal tube on the Driver side
thru the body and into the engine bay
it goes to 1 set of Fuel Injectors(has a place that you can put a pressure gauge if you want)
then behind the generator across the engine to the pass side engine into the other fuel rail and t
THEN into the pressure regulator
then from there to the Metal Tube on the Pass Side and out the front Back into either the pump or the smaller tube out of the tank
the Pressure Regulator(sits almost under the pass intake runner)
Regulates Pressure BEHIND the regulator
As Others are the Pressure OUT of the regulator
Put Many pics in your Gallery and we can answer anything you have

| All I see in that area(on my car), there are lines coming out from the tank, the little "Disc", and metal lines going into the body. As I said, I do have fuel pumps, one complete and one missing parts. Thanks |
