View original topic: FI and Timing question for FI newb. 71 Square
tuner-automotive Thu Mar 18, 2010 9:40 pm

Car is 71 Square all stock , single vacuum advance dist(small cap) and fuel injected .
Just did a full tune up on it and need to know.......

What to set the timing to ?
Hose disconnected or not and do I plug the ends up if I disconnect them.
Is there a idle speed screw anywhere or is it pre determined by the FI system?

Idle speed screw is next to the throttle shaft, on the throttle cable side.
It is an idle bypass screw. Not a throttle stop. It has a lock nut to hold it once set.

Shouldn't have to. That port is covered when the throttle is closed. Most it would do is be a very small vacuum leak.
But plug it if you feel better.

plug the port and the open end of the hose?

Just the hose where you pull it off the distributor.
