Hi guys, I was surfing the web last night and saw a site that said that the H30/31pict carb should only be used on 1300 dualports or singleports. My engine is a 1600 based on a 1300 dualport case, no modifications apart from that, that I know about.

Is it ok using a h30/31pict carb on my 1600?

Yep your good. Im running one with a 009 distributor. A good combination. I havent had any issues as far as carb or dizzy combo on my DP 1600 go. My fuel line was pinched so it ran like shit the last couple days. But as far as the carb on a 1600 you are good. Any info I can help you with let me know. What kind of distributor are you going to use? If its a 009 some carbs have a flat spot that is hard to get rid of with this distributor but the 30/31 works great with it.

I've got an 009 dizzy with compufire electronic ignition, it all worked great as it was, then I had engine trouble, really I only asked the question because I saw something about it last night :? Can't find the site in my history though :x

Anyway, thanks for the response!

I'm using a h30/31pict and 009 on a 1600 dp as well. All the problems I've had were not specifically caused by the carb, and the engine runs pretty well I think for being so worn. I wish I could use my 72 oil bath air cleaner tho', but the carb spacer pushes it up a bit too high.

My '72 oil bath fits fine in mine, maybe having a '67 decklid helps...

Thanks, I'm glad it works fine for other people :)

I'm running the H30/31 with 009 and am really happy. I switched out the 009 for a 019 distributor and saw no difference, so I put the 009 bak in .

on a 1600 the 30/31 benefits from a 55 idle jet and a 127.5 main

I have an H30/31 with an 019 on my 1600. It's a better combo than the 34PICT-3 and SVDA that it replaced.
