My fuel guage on my 66 works, but is pretty inaccurate. I find myself writing down the mileage at fuel up, and estimating when I will run out of gas.

When I was young, I remember my parents having a hand odometer with dials you would adjust on a magnet to accomplish the same thing. For the life of me, I can't remember/guess what it would be called so I could track one down.

Anyone?

I had one in my first bus. It was a 59 and had no gas guage. I dunno what it's called. Useful, though. We got one with the '56 westy (no gas guage), but it was broken.
I do keep a record book in each bus, and write down when I get fuel, & how much and when I do what repairs. But I wouldn't mind the little dial thing for a gas guage less bus.
Post a link when you do find it. :P

No doubt! I wanted one for my old bug before I got a trip speedo and was always looking for one to go cheap. For some reason, they're always expensive. I think it's a case of contagious pricing.

I see 5 sold almost instantly after you posted, with someone buying 3.

its crazy what a well read website can do. My wifes' business was featured on another site, and her traffic went from ~800 hits/day to over 15,000. she got really busy.

Damn, I knew someone sharp was going to catch that. The key to making these things work is to actually remember to reset them.

That would have been handy on my vacation trip to the LA and San Diego theme parks earlier in the summer. Drove an RV with a busted gauge. My VWs for the last 10 years have been fuel tap versions, so I always had a tablet and a pen stashed in a sacred spot. That is, until I robbed it for my 3500 mile round trip. Now I have no idea where it is.

if pyroman doesn't take the second one, I am interested...thanks
