Hi folks! been into watercooled VWs for about 20 years, but always loved Karmann Ghias. Bought this '67 Coupe a couple of months back & just been doing a few little jobs on it ready for using as my 'good weather' daily. (Next job is a narrowed/adjustable beam to sort the front end ride height!).
It was imported to the UK from Marin County in 1992, when it was restored & painted Atlas Grey. The motor is a 1600 with twin Kadrons & goes really well! Interior was done in tan leather when it was restored.
Anyway, a few piccies -
Cheers,

Looks good and solid. We have Kads on a stock 1600 in our '63 Bus and that goes really well too, despite the extra weight...bullet proof I like to think.
A few Brits in the Ghia Forum...you'll find the natives are quite docile. |

Hi Slafa, John. Yeah, I've been lurking for a good while but only just signed up. Recognised a few of the Brit Ghia owners from KGOC.
I spent ages looking for a good, solid, late 60's Ghia. As you no doubt know, solid rust-tree Ghias are something of a rarity over here! Luckily mine's had lots of (good) resto work done since it came over & has been looked after since.
It's pretty much rust-free, but the paint finish isn't the best. Looks good in the pics, but it's a bit of a patchwork of shades, with a couple of areas of laquer peel along the tops of the rear wings & door tops. I think it adds character though  |

How do you like that exhaust? Do you know what brand it is? I like your car and the color, I'm partial to stock-looking cars with stock wheels and hubcaps. Semi-sleeper, if you will.......
Thanks! |

| Welcome to the forums ! Nice looking Ghia you have there. Interesting color. I was considering a similar color for a 72 Vert. By the way you may even find some docile Yanks on here as well ! |

Love the exhaust - it's nice and throaty without been too loud. Not sure what brand it is - I can't see any markings on it, but it's stainless steel. The manifold (header) looks to be stainless too.
Looks-wise, I'm also loving the stock look (but with a good slam) Gonna keep the steel OE rims & add some early style smooth dome hubcaps & chrome beauty rings. If I was gonna change the wheels, I like BRMs (but not 4 lug) & Fuchs. With my Ghia being such a dark colour, I'd probably go polished or full chrome :D
Cheers,
