View original topic: '51 transmission question

I noticed a small amount of transmission oil had leaked from my '51 after being left parked facing down a hill.

The transmission oil appears to have leaked from around the gearshift rod (hockeystick), I assume there is a seal of sort around the gearshift rod as it leaves the gearshift housing ?

Can anyone clarify the type of seal as the exploded views only seem to show a rubber seal for the gearshift to body. :?

Any help gratefully received :)

Crash box has no seal for gear rod. When the nose cone hole is much worn, oil can leak out. There are no bushings in nose, but those are possible to place.

Be also care that the ventilation hole is open.
