| I've installed a new hydraulic clutch pedal/ cylinder on my car with a new clutch assembly. Everything looks good but when I press the clutch pedal it gets hard but doesn't disengage the clutch. I've gone to the end of adjustement but I can't seem to get it to work. It feels as though the TO bearing gets to the end of travel but it isn't far enough to free up the clutch. I've bled the line and get approx. 3/4 movement of the clutch arm. I need some help guys. Ideas? |

How is you pilot bearing??
The one in the middle of the gland nut?
If it is bad, the clutch will not release. |

| What type of clutch kit did you get, and what year car? I got a Saco for my 74, and I had to fab a longer push rod to fully activate the piston in the MC. |

| Update: THe problem was the clutch disc. I purchased the motor with the clutch already in place so I lined it up, installed the motor and wired it up. The problem was there were machining burrs on the splines and it would not free up when the pedal was pressed. I wouldn't have noticed it unless I dis-assembles the unit and placed the disc on the trans out put shaft. It went on easily but became hung up 3/4 of the way on the shaft. when the pedal was pressed all it did was shove the disc against the back plate keeping it from shifting. I guess I learned to check every piece even when they are new. |
