So I purchased a 59 vert that had new pans/heater channels installed. problem is, the previous owner pulled the old harness out without leaving a tag line. So I have a new wiring harness and it just doesnt want to go thru. does any one have any tips or tricks to get it done? thanks in advance.

You can use an old electricians tool, Cable Snake aka Fish tape. It's a roll of thin, sprung steel. Costs under $20 at Home Depot

That's what I used. It makes it somewhat less aggravating.

I used baling wire. Kind of a pain but it got the job done eventually. The hardest part was getting it to the dome light. But I quess a 'vert' doesn't have a dome light.

Where exactly are you having issues running the harness through? Verts are usually a breeze.

I try and run it thru the forward side into the channel and it just gets bound up somewhere in that area. I think i get maybe a third of the way thru.

Im going to guess your having an issue routing it behind the extra Convertible support panel to the under hood area. Is this correct?

I'm not sure if this will help, but.....
A home/shop vacuum can be applied to one end of a hose/pipe/channel and then draw a lightweight object affixed to a thread (attached to progressively) heavier line.
Alternatively, air pressure/volume can be used to push an item (attached to a line) through an enclosed space. |
